building's owner is responsible for submitting the Fire Safety Certificate,
or Annual Fire Safety Statement to Maitland Council. It certifies that all
essential fire safety measures (listed in the Fire Safety Schedule) have been
installed in the building. It should state that they are capable of perfoming
to the Australian Standard.
A Fire Safety Schedule can be issued with the Construction Certificate. The
Fire Safety Schedule lists the essential fire safety measures that are to be
installed in the building eg; extinguishers, exit lights, fire hose reels etc.
The schedule is usually made up by a Fire engineer or building certifier. What
happens if you don't submit an Annual
Fire Safety Statement?
